A comprehensive portal for those interested in how Connecticut's school finance system impacts New Britain

New Britain Public Schools is the ninth largest district in Connecticut and remains underfunded by the State by $33.8 million, according to the ECS formula. New Britain receives less state education funding per student than similar high-need districts and,  as a result, has the third lowest per-student spending in the state ($13,192) and spends less per student than similar districts.

This is the result of New Britain’s increasing student needs and lower community wealth not being accounted for in the current funding system.

Below is a collection of documents providing greater information about school funding in New Britain and why Connecticut's current school finance system is unfair to the students, schools, taxpayers, and community of New Britain.
