The presentation includes data from the Connecticut State Data Center’s Population Projections for school districts in Connecticut, along with demographic, socioeconomic, and enrollment data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey and the Connecticut State Department of Education. The presentation was given on Feb. 4, 2016 as a part of a Latino Policy Day panel hosted by the Connecticut School Finance Project titled "Connecticut's Changing Face: A Catalyst for Fair School Funding."

Created for a presentation at the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education‘s Annual Summer Leadership Conference on July 27, the visualizations include data from the Connecticut State Data Center’s Population Projections for school districts in Connecticut, along with demographic, socioeconomic, and enrollment data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey and the Connecticut State Department of Education.

Research Bulletin: District Reference Groups, 2006 (CT State Department of Education)

District Reference Groups (DRGs) is a classification system in which districts that have public school students with similar socioeconomic status (SES) and need are grouped together. The 2006 DRGs are the fourth generation of the State Department of Education’s classification of school districts. The groups are based on seven variables (income, education, occupation, family structure, poverty, home language, and district enrollment). All variables were based upon families with children attending public school.
